【Plant origin】: Dried fruits of the cherry subgenus Malpighia glabra. Arbor, 2-6 m tall, bark grayish-white. The twigs are grey-brown, the shoots are green, glabrous or sparsely hairy. The leaves are ovate or oblong-ovate, 5–12 cm long and 3–5 cm wide. Inflorescences umbel-shaped or nearly umbel-shaped, with 3-6 flowers, with open leaves; Pedicels 0.8–1.9 cm long, pubescent, sepals bell-shaped, 3–6 mm long, 2–3 mm wide, outer sparsely hairy, sepals triangular ovate or ovate oblong, apex sharply pointed or blunt, margins fully margined, half or more than half of sepals long, petals white, ovate, apex concave or bilobed, stamens 30–35, cultivators up to 50. The peduncles are nearly equal in length to the stamens and glabrous. The drupes are nearly spherical, red, 0.9–1.3 cm in diameter. The flowering period is from March to April, and the fruit period is from May to June.
